Sumaira Furqan – A Woman Who Never Give Up

An entrepreneur, Sumaira Furqan manages her online clothing line titled ‘Elegance Embroidered Collection’, which offers a variety of fancy, casual, and party wear dresses for women. Her business venture was born out of a passion to define the style of the garment. Her passion for accomplishing her goals motivates her to do everything she wants to do. This is what she did and succeeded at.
As a woman with a strong sense of self, Sumaira Furqan manages her personal and professional life very well. In spite of all the challenges in her life, she remains resilient.
At Mively, we approached her to learn more about her entrepreneurial journey, the challenges she faced, and the achievements she achieved. Let’s get to know her!!
How did you get started in your entrepreneurial career?
I have been so passionate about doing something in my life to make myself financially stable. Connecting with some inspiring women who had their own brands inspired me to think more about it. And this is how I took a baby step and started my online venture “Elegance Embroidered Collection’ along with my sister. We started it in the year 2017 and since then, we didn’t look back and continued to struggle.
Could you please tell us about your business?
“Elegance Embroidered Collection” offers a variety of stitched and unstitched, casual & partywear clothes for women. We have a variety of seasonal colors and fabrics that never go out of style.
What motivated you to become an entrepreneur?
Flexibility and freedom to work from home motivated me to become an entrepreneur because I always want to be my own Boss. The reason is 9-5 in-house jobs seem so challenging and hectic to me. So, I decided to start my entrepreneurial journey along with my sister who has been always by my side in all odds of my life.
What challenges did you face while starting your entrepreneurial career?
Challenges are a part of every individual’s life. We, too, faced challenges, but the best part is that we didn’t give up. In the beginning, we had no customers and this was the biggest challenge. On the other hand, some people cheated on us which caused stress. But gradually, we overcame these challenges and started getting positive responses from customers.
What is the greatest achievement of your career?
“Elegance Embroidered Collection” is now our identity. It gives us a sense of achievement and pride. By the grace of Almighty Allah, now we are earning a sufficient income and can fulfill our small dreams.
What does success mean to you?
To me, “Success is doing everything on your own and succeeding”.
What do you enjoy most about entrepreneurship?
I enjoy working at my own pace. Being able to work flexibly and have financial independence is something that I’m grateful for.
During your entrepreneurial journey, what valuable lesson did you learn?
By interacting with many customers, I learned to deal with all types of people. Furthermore, I learned how to communicate and work with different personality types in my career. Additionally, having proper knowledge of the stuff we are selling is also important.
What advice would you like to give to women entrepreneurs?
I would say, “Be Confident, Know Your Power, and Don’t Lose Hope No Matter What the Situation is”.
